Charles (or Buck as almost everyone knows him) grew up in Norton,
Ohio but spent his adult
life as a proud and active resident of the city of Wadsworth, where, with
wife Christy, he raised son Scott and daughter Lisa. He
recently retired after 32 years as a Volunteer Firefighter and a Lieutenant on the Wadsworth Fire
Department.
Buck holds an Associate degree in
Fire Science and a Bachelor of Science
degree in Emergency Management from the University of Akron. He
is a member of the Technical Committee for the National Fire
Protection Association for the development of the
“Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business
Continuity Programs”, the United States TAG/TC ISO 223 “Societal
Security”, the State of Ohio’s type 3 Incident Management Team
and is the Coordinator for the Northeast Ohio Fire Chief’s type
4 Incident Management Team.
Buck has received the Medina County Townships
Association's Grass Roots Gratitude Award,
the
Medina County Public Agency
Planning Award and the Medina County Sheriff's Special
Recognition Award.
He is a past President of the Emergency Management Association
of Ohio as well as the Northeast Ohio Emergency Management
Association.
Buck is the first and only Director of our agency
since formed in 1990 and has brought countless dollars to Medina
County and the region through his grant writing skills.
He is respected by his Emergency Management piers throughout the
state of Ohio.
